Classic Black and White

Updated: Feb 13, 2020

What is more classic than a black and white look? As a musician, I have a TON of black and white in my wardrobe, as that is what I am required to wear for most gigs. I have worn a lot of it lately since there have been so many performances! I thought that I would do something a little different today and share some of my looks from the past couple weeks that I just quickly shot in the mirror before going on to the next activity. All three of these looks are unique and so great for fall and winter!

Look #1:

I shot this look before running to our second gig in Lindsborg last weekend, and I think this one is my favorite of the three. It is so cute and is giving me Wednesday Addams vibes! It could be a great Halloween outfit as well as a normal October look. This dress, from Gap, has been in my closet for a couple years. I love its simple cut and velvet fabric. I added this perfect bow blouse from Chicwish. Layering tops under or over dresses is such an adorable silhouette!

Look #2:

Shop the Look: similar dress here, here, and here, Sam Edelman Kalia Tall Kitten Heel Boot, similar here, Pearl Hair Clips

This western inspired look has also been in my closet for a while. I purchased this dress from Kate Spade and it has been one of my favorites for a couple years now. See how I styled it last fall when I was just starting out my blog here! I love adding tall boots to a midi skirt. Not only is the silhouette in style right now, but it is also super warm and comfy!

Look #3:

I styled this look a couple weeks ago and loved getting to play with volume in different ways! I based the look off of this buffalo check top from Gap, since it had been sitting in my closet for quite some time and I hadn't found the right look for it yet. I love its statement print and sleeves, and added a pair of paper bag waist jeans from Target to play on the volume of the sleeves. To finish off the look, I wore some strappy sandals from Lulus that contrasted the other items in the outfit and gave it some polish!
