Last night was full of laughter, good food, good music, and good company. The symphony gala is one of my favorite events every year and I always look forward to getting dressed up! I am so excited to share my final look with you all. Even though more of you voted for the hi-low hem dress in my stories the other day, this Monique Lhuillier floral gown just captured my heart and gave me that romantic feeling that I wanted to have for this French inspired event. Those of you who liked the other dress better, I hear you, and you will see it again soon!

This year was different for me because, not only did I play percussion (in a gown!), but I also was a model for a wonderful painter in the entryway as guests arrived. I will never understand the amazing talent that goes into painting... it was so fun to watch her work!

Like I said above, I fell in love with this Monique Lhuillier gown as soon as I put it on. I love its beautiful floral pattern. Though the pictures didn't capture it, the gold tone in the print was actually metallic and shiny! For events like the gala, where there is a new theme every year, I love to use Rent the Runway. They have hundreds of beautiful gowns that you can rent for super cheap for a couple days and send back with no commitment! It is so much better than shelling out a couple hundred dollars for a dress that you'll only wear once. This dress was super flattering, though a bit low cut, and fit like a dream. It had pockets too!

Embracing the gold fabric in the print of the dress, I wore some chic and simple gold, sparkle heels by Steve Madden. These heels are old, but I have linked some very similar options above!

For my bag, I used an oldie but a goodie with this Nordstrom gold sparkle clutch. It went so perfectly with the dress and shoes! This clutch is perfect because it can also be converted into a crossbody if you don't feel like carrying it around all night or you want it to feel a little more casual!

To finish off the look, I chose some simple gold earrings and a matching necklace that Gus gave me for Christmas two years ago. I love how dainty they were and the complimented the romantic look so well! I wore a bright red lip for a fun pop of contrasting color, and did my signature, romantic updo. I will hopefully do a tutorial on that someday! It's super easy to do!
