Today is officially the first day of February, which means Valentines Day is right around the corner. Gus and I have been together for a little over 6 years, married for 3, and we have always had the tradition of staying home and having sushi. Our first year together, when we were both in college, Gus totally demolished his dorm room to set up a table, chairs, candles, and sushi dinner in the middle of the room. It was the sweetest thing and we have tried to make some form of that into tradition. This year, however, we are switching it up and doing something really exciting! I can't wait to share with you all soon.

Whether you are staying in or going out, this outfit is, seriously, my favorite for Valentines day, or any date night for that matter.

This dress, from Rent the Runway, is the most flattering and adorable dress I have worn in a long time! It fits so nicely, true to size, and is made of a very pretty red lace that is in such a unique pattern. The color is so die for! I love the contrast that the collar and cuffs provide to the look. It has such a sweet and cute vibe. This dress is $80 to rent for 4 days, or with the Upgrade or Unlimited on Rent the Runway, you pay the monthly fee and can rent it for as long as you like for no added price.

I paired this adorable dress with the equally stunning Kate Spade Pearl Crossbody Bag, also from Rent the Runway. While the dress is a bit more expensive to rent, this bag (retailing at over $200) is only $35 to rent for 4 days! Such a steal for a special bag to take on a special occasion. It is a bit small, think clutch size, with only enough room for some cash, license, phone, gum, and lipstick. I absolutely live for Kate Spade products, so I am very glad that they are available through Rent the Runway!

I styled this dress with one of the older pairs of heels in my closet from Target. They are sold out, but I have found some very similar pairs linked above. I love adding texture wherever I can in an outfit, and these heels are no exception! They are Gus's favorite pair of shoes in my closet, but I don't wear them very often since they have a 4" heel. I am more comfortable in anything under that height. These are also only one of two pairs of normal pumps in my closet. -Non-interesting fact about me- Most pumps and flats with structured backs pinch a nerve in my foot, so I cannot wear them. These are one of the only pairs that have been comfortable enough for me to wear!

I also wore some opaque tights from Nordstrom with this look.

These earrings from Baublebar are also some of my favorites. I absolutely love almost everything from their store, except for their "Build your own earrings" sets. Those fall apart!😭 Every other piece I have purchased from them has been great quality and very cute! These earrings are sold out in black, but I did find them in gold and in a multicolor, lace effect pattern.

I topped the look off with a sweet, wavy hairstyle and a very pretty red shade from Kylie Cosmetics that matched the dress perfectly!
