Thanksgiving is all about celebrating the blessings in life. I have been super blessed to have an amazing family, a handsome and incredible husband, a career that I absolutely love, and good health among many other things. Today, we are also blessed with warm weather! With all of the traveling and gigs I have had lately, I realized that I have been letting life overwhelm me with its demands. The past couple of weeks have been catching up for me: catching up on sleep, chores, lessons, practice, etc. For me, today is a time to sit back, relax, eat some good food, enjoy family, and praise God for all of the good things (and bad, as they help us learn). This shoot was shot all on an iPhone (some photos shot with Moment 18mm wide lens), not really because we chose to, but because I left my camera at my studio. It is possible that the sleep deprivation is driving me a little crazy... So, please enjoy some more natural photos with this article!
Matching skirt and blouse sets are my absolute favorites! Not to mention, perfect for Thanksgiving (super cute and put together but very comfy!). You can wear these pieces together, like I did today, which makes the outfit feel more like a dress. You can also wear them separately, so you get even more use out of each item! I actually just took this blouse with me to PASIC this last weekend and styled it with some jeans and booties. The rust colored polka dot blouse and skirt are from the recent collaboration of Halogen X Atlantic-Pacific at Nordstrom. There were so many pieces from this collection that I loved and I just had to have this set! They both fit true to size, although the skirt waist band is a little loose on me.
This faux shearling coat from the Something Navy November collection just arrived in the mail yesterday and I was so excited to wear it! It is definitely worth the money. It is heavy, great quality, has snap closures, and actually has pockets! I can't believe how many ill-functioning coats there are out there for women.. I have some coats that came with fake pockets and don't even close. This coat gives you both style and function! The inside lining is to die for, it feels like real leather. It is a full length coat, great for the winter season.
I have had these adorable Nanette Lepore heels for a couple years now and have worn them again and again during the fall and winter seasons. I am obsessed with them! They were they first pair of velvet shoes I owned, and now my closet is full of them. Velvet heels make up most all of the options available in stores as well! The material just adds more visual interest and makes the shoes more luxe. I don't quite remember where I bought these from and almost all sizes of the shoes are sold out, but I have found some very similar options linked above! I purchased this gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff bag during a final sale, so it is no longer around either. It compliments the burgundy color of the shoes well and has nice details. I had to include this photo to show you all the cutest accessory that I have, my puppy Lilly. She is just so adorable!!! I don't know what I'd do without her..
For my inanimate accessories, I wore some beaded hoop statement earrings and a ring from Rocksbox. I also wore my favorite lip color from the Younique makeup brand. This lipstick is amazing. It goes on super smooth, is not drying, and is super pigmented. With 17 different shades to choose from, you can find something for every outfit!
