Style Trends for Fall (pt. 1)

Updated: Aug 29, 2018

Since graduating from college, my all-time favorite season has turned into fall. I am anxiously waiting with open arms for the cooler weather, fall flavors and, of course, the fashion! Nothing beats a crisp, fall day with some sort of pumpkin spice or maple flavored coffee (yes, I am that typical with my fall drink choices) and a cozy sweater and booties combo. I follow Nordstrom on their Instagram stories and wanted to share my take on their clothing trends for fall. Since I had so much material from their post, I am going to break this into two parts. Hope you enjoy and can find some pieces to add to your fall closet!

1. Puffers

This Blanc Noir Reversible Puffer Jacket from Nordstrom is a great casual option for a cool fall day. Pair it with some leggings, tennis shoes, and a hoodie. This look would be great for hanging out around the house or traveling!

Here is a dressier option for a puffer jacket from Revolve. I would pair it with this dress from Lulus and some boots. Below, I have put some of my other favorite puffers.

2. Blooms and Prints

Prints are my go-to, and this dress from Zara is going to be one of my favorite fall pieces (I ordered it a couple days ago)! I plan on pairing it with some lovely boots like these (in my closet), these, or these. As it gets colder, I will layer it with a nice jacket or cardigan.

Nods to furnishing fabrics are also a theme for fall patterns. This dress from the Gal Meets Glam collection is a great example of the trend. I absolutely love the GMG brand and will probably post a ton of outfits using them! I would style this dress with a pair of beige heels.

3. Bold Statement Sweaters

A good, bright color is just the perfect pop of happiness to a cool day. I am in love with this Topshop Pointelle Ball Sleeve Sweater from Nordstrom. I would style this with a flowy, printed skirt like this or this, and some black booties.

Textures and layering are also huge for fall. This pom pom sweater from Zara is a new addition to my closet and could be layered over button up shirts like this one with jeans like these.
