Pretty Pastels

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

I have so been enjoying being back at home but am not missing the New York weather! It has been a little cooler here lately but still quite a bit warmer than where we vacationed. This look is perfect for trying to beat the heat and still look super cute and summery! I styled this look to be a little retro with a sweet, pastel twist.

This dress from Chicwish was such a surprise when I opened the box! The open back is such a great twist on an otherwise sweet and timeless silhouette. While this dress shows a bit more skin than I expected, I am in love. I felt so pretty and even, dare I say, sexy. What drew me to the dress in the first place was the beautiful, blue stripe pattern and the adorable ruffle bottom. I knew it would be the perfect summer dress!

When I had done a try on haul in my stories with this dress, I originally wore these Ann Taylor shoes with it since they had also come in the mail. I loved the two paired together so much, that I knew they had to be together again for the actual blog post look! I love pairing pastel colors together, just like in my last post, so I embraced the color scheme and went with all blush accessories! This Urban Expressions blush and straw bag was the perfect pairing to this look.

It was a really windy day, if you can't tell from some of my pictures, so I decided to do something different and tied my hair back with a Madewell hair scarf. The scarf, along with my cat eye sunglasses from Quay Australia, gave it the vintage summer look that I was going for with this dress! I added these absolutely adorable petal hoop earrings from Violet and Brooks and a dainty wifey necklace from Etsy to finish off the look. I discovered Violet and Brooks through a fellow blogger and I am so thankful for it! They have so many cute jewelry pieces and accessories! For my lipstick, I wore Kylie Cosmetics creme lipstick in puppy love.
