I hope everyone had a safe and merry Christmas! Ours has been so crazy and I am looking forward to the next couple of days. We have been driving, driving and driving, going back and forth from family functions in different parts of the state. (Hence, why I have only been able to do two posts this week) Now, I am pretty much staying home until after New Years! I just got back today from a family trip to nearby Wichita, KS, where we shopped, went to a movie, explored some museums, and went to the famous Botanica Illuminations Christmas lights display! It was a great way to end the Christmas festivities, but I will be glad to be in my own bed tonight and have a full day to myself tomorrow to prepare for the New Year!

I always love New Years Eve, as it is always full of hope and future plans, and I wanted to share an outfit option with you all today that can help you ring in 2019!

This dress from the Something Navy collection at Nordstrom is the perfect dress for New Years events! Made of a black, sequin material, it has just enough sparkle. It is surprisingly not as sparkly as you would think, which makes it a little more approachable for other events, not just New Years! I love the balloon sleeves and modest neckline that are paired with the shorter hem of the skirt. It shows a lot of leg but still looks classy. I am wearing a size small in these pictures, but would honestly size down if I could. The dress is supposed to be a little oversized, so I went ahead and kept the small, but there is some extra fabric (especially in the back) that might have been better in an Extra Small.

I have shared these amazing Louise et Cie Sock Booties, also from Nordstrom, in the past. (See here) They are just so good, and comfortable, too! The stiletto heel and the sleek, classic look was the perfect paring to the dress. Did I mention, they are on sale as well!? These boots work with just about anything and totally elevate the look. I also wore a pair of sheer, black tights from Target under the dress for some added warmth and security.

I know I just shared this bag, but a good statement piece will work with many outfits, again and again! (See here and here) This bag is proof of just that, as it has been my go-to clutch for a lot of my dressy outfits this season. It is convertible into a crossbody bag, so I decided to use the strap for this look. On New Years Eve, the last thing you want to worry about is leaving your handbag on a counter or table somewhere. I love this clutch for it's versatility and the way that it pops against the black dress!

I am smitten by these gorgeous earrings from BaubleBar. While they are definitely the largest pair of statement earrings that I own, I think they are so pretty with this look! Their gold color and sparkle matched the bag perfectly and they are so elegant and classy. Sadly, there is only the Blush color left on their website, but I have linked them above anyway along with some other great options! I also wore some assorted rings from H&M and a beautiful bracelet that my niece got me for Christmas from a local store! My lipstick was from the 8 piece lip set from Kylie Cosmetics in shade Hot Chocolate.

I hope this gives you some great ideas for a New Years look! I am so looking forward to what 2019 brings for all of us! <3
