My Sunny Outfit for a Gloomy Day

August heat brings September showers? I think that's how that goes...

Shop the look: Ruth Midi Dress, similar dress here or here, Tasha Five Stripe Belt, similar shoes here or here, similar handbag here or here, Set in Stone Enamel Stone Hinged Bangle

The past couple weeks have been very hot, humid, and fairly dry for us here in Kansas and have made us all very ready for fall weather. Today has still treated us to hot and humid, but we are promised rain and cooler temperatures for the next week! I chose this look today to contrast the gloomy weather and to celebrate the day before Labor Day. I feel like the no white after Labor Day rule is slowly being broken. White boots are going to be a big thing this fall and winter, so the color isn't going anywhere, and I am glad about that!

This dress helped me discover the wonderfulness that is the Boden brand. Boden offers high-quality, low price, feminine and office-appropriate attire. I paired this dress with some SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker slingback heels (because every woman's style icon is SJP!) and the Tasha five stripe belt from Nordstrom. Unfortunately, the SJP slingbacks are mostly sold out, unless you are a size 5, so I linked some similar heels that are also less expensive. I purchased the white bag from DSW, but could no longer find it, so I linked some similar styles as well that are just as cute!

Jewelry:

The earrings I wore with this outfit are Wilde Cape Town Drops from Rocksbox. For those of you who don't know, Rocksbox is a styling service that is similar to Stitch Fix (a clothing box that I talked about in my Date Night Post). Instead of clothing, you receive three pieces of hand-picked jewelry to try on with different outfits in your closet, keep what you want, and send back the rest. There is a small monthly charge, but you are not limited to one box a month. You can keep a box for as long as you want, and you can also send a box back as often as you want and get new styles! I am the worst at picking jewelry in a store, so getting to try on the jewelry is a huge help for me. You can help your stylist pick pieces for you by going online and picking your favorites out of a gallery of available items. Rocksbox is a very fun and useful service and I highly recommend it!
