Last month, while on our vacation in Chautauqua, NY, Gus and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary! We got all dressed up, went out to a nice dinner, and then went to the symphony! It was a perfect night. Since it was a special date, I wanted to wear a LWD for Gus, and he totally approved!
A while back, I had tried on a similar dress to this but couldn't justify spending they $$ on it, so I decided instead to find a more affordable version of the dress, and got pretty close! I loved the wrap detail on this dress from Lulus, as I am not comfortable wearing a normal bodycon dress. I have had body issues for years (I lost 60 lbs in high school and still can't get used to my body), so any tight dresses are very uncomfortable for me. However, the wrap detail and the high neck kept me from feeling too exposed and created a flattering line.
I wanted the look to say "summer" without being too casual, and I think this bag from Aldo Shoes captured that idea perfectly! I love this bag for summer. The mixture of straw and faux leather is so charming and the embroidery is so fun!
My heels, also from Lulus, were a great pairing with the outfit. I love a lace up heel with a sexy outfit. These were surprisingly comfortable because of their chunky heel. I also loved their baby pink color, which was an unintentional nod to our wedding colors!
To finish off the look, I added modern, gold accessories, like these amazing gold earrings from H&M and an assortment of gold barrettes from Amazon. I also wore a favorite lipstick of mine from Bite Beauty in a dusty rose color.
