I have SO been enjoying the beautiful fall weather we have been having here in Kansas this week. Gus and I got up super early on Friday and shot this look around our farm while the fall colors were at their finest! One of my favorite bloggers, Blaire Eadie, just dropped a collection with Halogen at Nordstrom last Monday, and I have been obsessed ever since. I adore her style, and wish I was half as fashionable as she is. This collection, however, had some pieces that I absolutely had to have and make me feel maybe a little bit more stylish. 😆 Unfortunately, though I am sharing these pieces with you, most have been sold out. There are a few pieces left, so click here to check out what is still available from her collection!

This skirt from Blaire's collection, Halogen X Atlantic-Pacific, is the star of the whole look. It is made from a wonderful, polka-dot tulle fabric. It is high quality, and made me feel so elegant and high fashion. This look will be great for many occasions: Galas/formal events, family pictures, date nights, weddings, maybe even an edgy day outfit, and OF COURSE, a symphony outfit! As a symphony musician, I am required to wear modest, black clothes for concerts. I can't show ankle (scandalous 😯), or have sleeves shorter than 3/4. This is so I, or anyone else, does not distract from the music. I have always challenged the stigma that percussionists wear pants, as percussion is viewed as a masculine instrument section by many people. As a result, I wear a dress and heels to just about every concert I do! I am so looking forward to wearing this for our next concert this weekend!

My Free People turtleneck bodysuit from Macys was a great addition to this outfit. I love bodysuits because they are flattering and stay in place all day! No having to re-tuck my shirt after sitting or bending over. This bodysuit is a sweater material, so it is super warm and will be great for this fall/winter season. I love the simple, modest style of this top for the outfit. I felt like I was out of a western or the black swan. I couldn't decide which one!

Because of the all black outfit, I chose to add a pop of color in my accessories. While I will not wear these to a symphony concert, I will wear these for other occasions to add some more fun to the outfit. I don't want to look like I'm going to a funeral! These fuchsia kitten heel booties from Lulus are so cute, comfortable, and affordable! Kitten heels are in style and add just a little bit of height without sacrificing comfort.

This amazing bag from Steve Madden was the perfect accessory to match my shoes. It is both red and hot pink, comes with two different strap choices, and is so cute and modern! I chose this not only for the color, but for it's shape. The circle shape pairs well with the fun polka-dot pattern of the skirt! This bag will work for any season and will be a staple in my closet.

I chose classy pearl and rhinestone jewelry for this look. This bow hair tie from Nordstrom was perfect for the look. Also, I just got these earrings in my most recent Rocksbox and I am in love. I wore a faux pearl bracelet (gift from my mom!) and an old-fashioned ring. I have found some similar pieces linked above.

For my lipstick, I used Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in color Vacay.
