This week has been crazy so it was nice to take some time to dress up, get a cold drink, and enjoy a short little date with Gus in the middle of the day! We are currently on day five of pit orchestra rehearsals for the Salina Community Theater's production of Newsies, and we had a full schedule last week as well with more gigs. Besides a breakdown on Sunday, I have hung in there and am ready for Monday to get here! While yesterday was a little too warm for this dress, we are expecting a little cooler weather later this week, and I am so excited for the nice temperatures!
You all know that I am obsessed with Kate Spade. If I had to pick one clothing brand to represent my personal style, that would probably be it. However, Kate Spade clothing is usually more than I would like to spend on a look, so I really appreciate that Rent the Runway has some styles available for rent! This is one of the those dresses. It is actually pretty new, as it was just launched in February for their spring collection, and I love the fun pattern and adorable sleeve details. Although the dress was a tiny bit loose fitting on me, I don't think I would have been comfortable sizing down, so I would say that this dress fits TTS. It is perfect for a cooler, summer day event or even work!
This dress is on sale if you would like to purchase! Check it out here.
I wanted to pair a Kate Spade bag with this look as well, so when browsing Rent the Runway's selection, I decided to play on the bright floral print with a color block pattern. I also liked that the mint color complimented the little touches of green in the fabric of the dress. While this is an older bag and is not available for purchase, you can still rent it on RTR and I have linked some similar bags above. This bag was so great and roomy. I actually used it to pack my change of clothes for the pit.
These shoes by Jessica Simpson were just adorable with this dress! I love their pop of color and little bow detail. Not to mention, strappy heels are very in style for the season. While they were not the most uncomfortable pairs of shoes that I own, they were just so cute! They are no longer available for sale, but I have found some very similar options linked above.
To finish off the look, I decided to add a sweet little Violet & Brooks barrette detail in a totally different color. The light pink and the bow added another level of sweetness to the look. I have used these bows a lot since I purchased them about a month ago. See how I styled the red color here! Although you can't see them in this picture, I wore some cute H&M hoop earrings with a iridescent bead to play on the sheen of the dress. I also wore one of my favorite Kylie Cosmetics lipsticks in the shade Passion.
