Christmas Time Is Here!

Affordable look for formal holiday events!

Holiday season is fully upon us, paired with plenty of holiday parties! My last couple blog posts have included outfit options for different parties for this time of year. While less common here in the middle of Kansas, at least for me, formal events, such as a black tie weddings, galas, or other fundraisers/Christmas parties, can be a daunting and expensive outing. These events that have an implied dress code can leave you with an unhappy bank account and an expensive dress or outfit that will usually only be worn once or twice. This look, however, is made up of inexpensive items that look like a million bucks!

One of the many bloggers on Instagram that I follow introduced this beautiful, emerald, velvet midi dress from ASOS to me and I fell in love with it right away. I love the classic and feminine style of this dress and the velvet fabric makes it look so luxe and expensive! Velvet is a great way to elevate any look. It was pretty hard for me to get a hold of this dress, as it sells out fast, but I snagged it on a recent restock. It is currently sold out, but I have linked some similar, gorgeous dresses below. Also, I did link the exact dress so you can check for restocks.

While this gorgeous coat from H&M is somewhat of a splurge, it has totally been worth it. This is seriously the best coat that I own. The faux fur is the softest material that I have ever felt in my life, the lining is classy and the coat is heavy and very warm. It was exactly what I needed on this chilly winter day. There is a faux leather tie to cinch in the waist and pockets! I can't believe that the coat having pockets was a super exciting thing for me, but you would not believe how many women's coats do not have them... I could go on for a while about this lol!

I wore these stunning Badgley Mischka heels in my gala dress blog post last month and loved their glamour and comfort. These were the perfect heels for this dress. Metallic heels are a great way to add some personality and style to any look, whether that is a nice dress like the one above or even a pair of jeans and a sweater. To prevent my heels from sinking in the ground, I have invested in something called Secret Stoppers. These are little, clear, rubber stoppers that you slip on the end of your stilettos. They give them a wider base so you can walk over grass and dirt without worrying about sticking in the ground. They are a life saver! I highly suggest you buy a set, as they have saved my heels multiple times.

This great clutch/convertible crossbody bag from Nordstrom was the best option for this look I could imagine! It is made of a sparkly, mesh material that catches the light beautifully and played so well with my earrings and the jewels on my heels. I liked the delicate, more modern look paired with. the vintage vibe of the dress and coat. There is an old rule that you cannot mix silver items with gold items, but I believe that they are both neutrals and can be paired well! My shoes are gold but have a silvery sheen to them and my earrings are mostly silver. My bracelet and rings were also gold but because of the shoes and bag, they all fit together.

Gus captured this amazing shot that shows just how beautiful these earrings from Baublebar are! Unfortunately, I could not find them anywhere! I just purchased them a couple of weeks ago but they have completely disappeared... I have found some amazing options that would work just as well with this look linked above. For my other jewelry, I wore a gold bangle from Kate Spade and rings from H&M. This red lip is, of course, from Kylie Cosmetics' Holiday Collection. Sadly, the set that it was in is sold out, but I have linked a similar shade above.

More Pictures Below! (They are worth scrolling through, I promise!)

Thank you all so much for your continued support! I truly appreciate everything! More coming in a couple days <3
