Before and After: Garage/Entryway

Updated: Feb 21, 2020

I can't believe that my first ever home Before and After is already done! I am so excited to share my garage/entry space. While the rest of the garage (not pictured...thank God...) is still in shambles with boxes everywhere, I did take some time to finish this entry space and I am so happy with how it turned out!

Before

Here is the space before! It is, obviously, a plain, old garage entry space. The previous owners had a white cubby/bench system along the back wall for their kid's backpacks and coats, so I took that idea and elevated it a little! Seeing the totally white space, I knew I wanted to add some pops of color and either paint or wallpaper that back wall for an accent. Since I had never painted a wall before, I enlisted my mom to help me out!

After

I actually started the design process with my rug! Blue is my favorite color for houses, since it just makes me feel super comfortable and calm, so I am sprinkling a little bit of blue throughout my whole house. I found this indoor/outdoor rug from Target and knew I would base everything off of it. Since the rug is busier, I opted for a nice, light grey accent color on the wall instead of a wallpaper. I think it pairs nicely with the other colors and makes the furniture pop! Speaking of the furniture, I wanted to do a bench and coat hanger system, (similar to the previous owners) so I could hang up my coat and put boots under the bench when I get home. I found a lovely 6' long bench from Etsy and a similar coat hanger/shelf! I then used decorations from my previous home's basement to finish the space!
