A Magical Night Shoot!

Updated: Feb 23, 2020

This has to be one of the cooler shoots that Gus and I have done! Before heading home after a long day, we decided to do an impromptu and somewhat rushed shoot in the dark. There were storms all around Salina, which created a beautiful sunset! This courtyard was a new addition to downtown Salina this summer and I have been so inspired by it! It is such a magical space, especially at night. I love the hanging lights! This was our first night shoot and I think there will be many more to come. What do you think?

I am determined to dress for fall even though it hasn't quite felt like it yet. Luckily, I have some great transitional pieces in my closet, like this mustard short sleeved sweater from Bohme. I bought this sweater last season and loved it so much that I bought it in three colors! It paired so perfectly with this Chicwish skirt. I am always so blown away by Chicwish. They have wonderfully affordable pieces that are such great quality! This skirt feels like real, heavy suede and will be great for fall and winter! I love it's unique, checked pattern and mix of cream and grey color.

You all know I love a good belt bag! They are so convenient and useful, not to mention, there are so many adorable styles anymore! This particular bag is old from Kohl's, which has an amazing assortment of belt bags, so I have linked some similar styles above.

These shoes are just gorgeous and I have gotten so much use out of them! They are extremely comfortable. I also love the mixture of the black leather and the wood look heel. It makes them rustic yet modern, so they go with just about anything! These heels are great for this transitional season. I have linked similar options above.

I kept my accessories pretty simple and let the skirt be the standout piece. I have definitely turned into a hat person. I love this simple black hat by Something Navy. While it is sold out, I have found some similar options above! I have realized that I must have a smaller sized head, as all of the hats I have purchased are swimming on me. However, this hat has a really useful adjustable liner that secured it on my head!

I also wore a pair of sparkly, black stud earrings from Rocksbox. They are old as well, but I found some similar options!
