A Pop of Red ❤️

Updated: Feb 10, 2019

Last Sunday was a busy day, with church early in the morning, then a rehearsal after that, and then a Superbowl party with family! I wanted to wear something that was versatile, so when I was running from event to event during the day, I could look put together but casual and comfortable at the same time! One of the easiest ways for me to dress up a look is with my accessories, and I love to do a pop of color, especially red!

This button down shirt from Rails was perfect for the look I was trying to achieve. It is professional but with a hint of modern flair with the white and silver pearl beading. I love its oversized fit. It would looks great with skinny jeans or leggings or tucked into trousers. I purchased this shirt a while back, so it has since sold out, but I have found some very similar options linked above!

Since it was a wonderfully warm day out (about 70 degrees!), I only needed a light jacket. This oversized, navy blazer from Vici worked so well with the look! It is still available in a few sizes, so move fast! I love its proportions with this outfit and the navy and strips are almost nautical with the pops of red.

I went with a darker colored skinny jean from Good American (See styled here). This brand of jeans is, seriously, my favorite. While I don't like how pricey they are, I am okay with splurging on these jeans, as they are so comfortable, flattering, and stylish. I am very much not a jeans person. I have an athletic shape but still have curves, making shopping for jeans a little hard. Jeans that fit my bum don't fit my waist most of the time, leaving an unflattering gap at the back. These jeans hug every curve like a pair of leggings does, but gives you more structure! The high waist and stretchy fabric makes them easy and comfortable to wear and is great quality, so far.

To dress up the outfit, I decided to wear this convertible clutch/crossbody bag (see styled here and here) and these sexy Louise et Cie Pumps (see styled here), both from Nordstrom. There are three aspects that I like to use when making an outfit and that is 1. A Base (the pants, coat, solid colors), 2. Texture (the shirt, pattern, beading, embroidery), and 3. A Pop (some bright pop of color or texture). These shoes and the clutch provide the perfect pop of color and help complete the look!

To complete the outfit, I wore a gorgeous pair of pearl statement earrings from Baublebar to compliment the pearl accents on the shirt. Baublebar is a wonderful place to find jewelry, as well as Rocksbox. My two favorite places to shop for accessories! I also wore my favorite red lipstick from Kylie Cosmetics!
