Emerald Slippers and Transitional Style

It is finally the time of year where we can start wearing transitional styles! It most definitely is not warm enough to get rid of coats, sweaters, and boots, especially with us getting snow almost weekly here in Kansas for the past month, but I am starting to introduce lighter and brighter colors and patterns into my winter wardrobe. I guess I am hoping that a more colorful wardrobe will usher in an early spring? Here's hoping!

This look is so unique. When I was just discovering fashion bloggers on Instagram a little over a year ago, a blogger shared this sweater and skirt combo and I was in love. This is my interpretation of the look! Almost all of these pieces have been in my closet for quite some time and have been worn and reworn many times. I love to reuse pieces and did my best to link similar items for everything above!

This chunky knit sweater was one of two of my first items purchased from Mango! I discovered this great shop through other fashion bloggers and love its quality and style. This sweater is super warm and soft! While being a little oversized, I still liked how both its color and silhouette paired with the skirt.

This skirt, purchased with the sweater also from Mango, is so special. It proves to be one of the most uniquely patterned skirts I have ever owned. I really enjoy the mixed stripes and boldness of the green, black, and white together. I think spring and summer is a great time to challenge yourself with a bold print. This skirt was the first item of clothing that inspired me to step outside of my comfort zone and to make a statement.

Colored tights are a great way to make a statement as well. They can elevate an outfit while being practical! I purchased these tights by Hue from Nordstrom Rack recently, but they have already sold out. I did find some great similar tights linked above!

These gorgeous Louise et Cie Heels from Nordstrom were added to my collection around Christmas time. They are so fitting for The Emerald Slipper! With a comfortable heel and unique color and material, these are easily one of my favorite pairs of shoes.

My accessories for this look were the perfect mixture of spring and winter. The faux pearl bag from Amazon is very on trend for spring and was super popular this winter as well. I like that it adds some fun and lightness to the look and gives a nod to the approaching season! While it is a great and affordable version of a more expensive, trendy bag, it does come with a cheesy (in my opinion) silk liner bag on the inside that you can remove, thank goodness. Overall, it is a great bag! I also added a faux pearl ring to tie the bag in to the look.

I also styled this look with yet another gorgeous hair accessory from Headbands of Hope! This olive velvet scrunchy fit so well with this look. I love its color and texture! Headbands of Hope is a wonderful business. For every item sold, an item is given to a child with cancer!

I added some floral statement earrings from Rocksbox to the outfit and mixed two shades from Kylie Cosmetics and Bobbie Brown Lipsticks to create a unique shade!
