A week or two ago, we were blessed with a beautiful, early snow. Not just any snow, but about five or six inches at our house of fluffy, slow falling, wet snow that stuck to everything. Our farm, still with green grass and fall colors in the trees, was transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland and we just had to go out and play in it and take some pictures! This winter will be all about cozy knits, whether as a top, hat, or a sweater dress like the one above!

This sweater dress from Lulus was the perfect, cozy outfit for the snowy day! I always love a good burgundy outfit. I feel like the color compliments and looks great on anybody! It was also the perfect contrasting color to the snowy setting. This dress would be a great option for holiday get-togethers or just as an everyday outfit, as it can be dressed up or down.

Here are a few of my favorite sweater dresses for this winter (click picture to shop):

This gorgeous coat from the September launch of the Something Navy collaboration with Nordstrom. This brand just dropped another collection this Wednesday and I am obsessed. It is hugely popular! I love this coat for many reasons. It is a beautiful black and grey checkered pattern, so it goes with just about anything because of its neutral color and adds visual interest to a less textured outfit. It is great quality and not terribly expensive! Unfortunately, it is all sold out but Something Navy will be launching a December collection that will have many more great coats. I have also linked some other options above!

Over the knee boots, also from Lulus, were the perfect addition to this outfit with the shorter length of the dress. These boots are super comfy with the faux suede fabric and the low heel. I am a fan of these boots in theory and in pictures but I get a little frustrated with them not staying up when I walk or sit. Maybe I have the wrong ones but I still wear them because they're cute! These boots have an elastic band to keep them up but there are boots with a tie instead. I will try these in the future and let you know if those stay up better! I have linked some similar options above. I also wore some sheer black tights from Target to have an added layer of warmth. I definitely needed it on this cold day!

My belt is also another awesome item from the September Something Navy Collection. It is currently available in ALL sizes and is 40% off!! This belt is seriously amazing. It is inexpensive but doesn't look that way. It took this sweater dress, which normally is straight fitting and casual, and turned it into a very flattering shape for my figure by cinching in the waist. I also used it to pull the skirt up a little higher to accent the over the knee boots.

These statement earrings from BaubleBar are my absolute favorite at the moment for the holidays. The playful heart shape with the pearls and sparkles makes them a great accessory! The rectangular bag from Target was a good final touch to the look. I like the straight lines that match the lines of the coat. It was inexpensive and adorable but the quality was a little effected by that this time. The clasp is hard to close and to keep closed, so be aware of that. I did find some other great options linked above!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I have so enjoyed my time in Indianapolis at the percussion convention and am sorry I haven't posted on Instagram as much! I am excited for Thanksgiving next week and time with family and friends.
